We photograph specimens for collectors, dealers and publications. The photographer, Louis Verschuren, has many years of experience in this field and has been acclaimed for his work many times over. Scroll down for more info and to see some sample images.
How does it work?
All images are taken at our manager’s home in Ghent, Belgium. You can drop your specimen off, send them by post or hand them to us on a fair or event we both attend. We will first share with you all the full-res images with watermarks and a proposal for the price per photo and for the whole bunch. We then discuss which ones you are satisfied with and which ones not – with some reason so that we can improve them. Of course we then organise to get the specimen returned to your good care.
How much does it cost?
The price depends on how many pieces you want to have photographed (the more, the cheaper) and the time it takes us to shoot them (some pieces are harder and more time consuming to photograph than others). Prices range from 25 to 50 euros per photo.
Discounts:
- 6 – 10 pictures: 10%
- 11 – 30 pictures: 20%
- 31 – inf. pictures: 30%
Referrals
If you are a happy costumer you can make money spreading the word of our services. You will get 5% of all orders that get to us because of you. Do make sure the new costumer mentions your name when contacting us.
FAQ
- Do you prefer that the specimen is free or already glued to an acrylic base to take a photograph?
That does not matter. We can and will photoshop all of that stuff out to get the desired result. Please don’t remove them from their base if they are already on one, as that could damage the specimen.
- What is the size range of specimens you can photograph?
We photograph anything you can see with the naked eye, so that means an FOV (field of view) of at least 5mm and up to infinity. We are still working on an extreme macro setup to lower that limit to 1mm. We will update it here when it is ready.
